(Adjoint) Môtu, Shiny Bird Follower

Lore[]

Grass burns, so you should walk on dirt or rock, instructed the shiny bird in a cheeky voice. The bird landed on Môtu's hot, burning hand and rested its wings for a while. The startled Môtu asked the bird how it could stand the heat. The bird replied: "Phoenixes born from the flames don't get burned. Same as you." Môtu grew even more surprised, and began walking through the rocky mountains as the small phoenix had told him to do.

Name Origin[]

In Greek mythology, a phoenix or phenix (Ancient Greek φοίνιξ phóinīx) is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. While the phoenix typically dies by fire in most versions of the legend, there are less popular versions of the myth in which the mythical bird dies and simply decomposes before being born again.
