The chancellor concocted a devious scheme to assassinate the king. He would engineer an "accident" in which Tibbs broke free and attacked the monarch. After unlocking one of the gargantuan chains constricting the demon, he took stock of the situation. Tibbs appeared too enervated to even move, so he continued to unlock the fetters one by one. Just as he attempted to transfer the monster to a cage, the creature's long tongue lashed out and knocked him down like a rag doll. At long last, Tibbs had caught his first prey. He devoured the swooned chancellor in a single gulp.
