No matter how many Yggdrasil Blooms Kate piled around her master, he did not awaken. As she was an artificial being, she would become unable to move without his maintenance. Yet she continued to make the rounds, collecting more of the flowers and bringing them back, until she had finally reached her limit. As she lay among the petals, they began to give off a warm glow, granting her a moral life. It was only then that she understood that her master had perished, and her tears fell upon the blossom-covered ground.

Kate is a feminine name of Old Greek origin; the meaning is "pure, virginal, clear; blessed; popular". The name literally means either pure or blessed, used in different context. It is also can be a short form of Katherine. Derived from Greek word katharos "pure", or Greek hekateros "each of the two"; yet another possible source is Greek aikia "torture".
