(Courageous) Dugnio, Facing Fears

Lore[]

From where did one derive courage? From faith? From loving others? or perhaps it was just a question of whether one had remembered their silver bullets. Dugnio thought it likely came from all those things. He always aimed for the same spot, right between the eyes. Simultaneously, his blade pierced flesh, stabbing through the heart of another. No, he was neither soldier nor huntsman. But when the time came, Dugnio transformed into the most courageous of men.

Name origin[]

A werewolf (Old English wer(e)wulf, a compound of were "adult male human" and wulf "wolf"), also known as a lycanthrope (from the Greek lykos "wolf", and anthrōpos "man"), is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or a therianthropic hybrid wolf-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse or affliction (e.g. via a bite or scratch from another werewolf).

Their transformation is associated with the appearance of the full moon. Most modern references agree that a werewolf can be killed if shot by a silver bullet, although this is more a reflection of fiction's influence than an authentic feature of the folk legends. A werewolf allegedly can be killed by complete destruction of heart or brain; silver isn't necessary.
