The Wehmkin Archive employed a number of clerks, nearly all of them sorcerers. They had once relied on the records for their research and then came to contribute to it themselves, a cycle that beget ever more substance. Those who loved knowledge would become absorbed in it, readily acquiescing to requests concerning its upkeep. In contrast, nothing could arise from vacuity and so the illiterate were barred. I could not abide by servants who would unknowingly misuse my precious content, regardless of their intent.
