Rapunzel soon realized that she could not depend on others to provide, be it fortune or protection. She devised a use for her length hair and bodly faced the giants. With her lithe movements, she entangled the brutes and brought them to the ground with a deafening crash. The pride she held in her unique attribute, shich had once allowed her to escape from her fate in the tower, now returned stronger than ever.

"Rapunzel" is a German fairy tale about a girl, the protagonist and title character, imprisoned in a tower by a witch who lets down her long hair for a rescuer to climb. The name derived directly from German Rapunzel, which is the name of several varieties of lettuce.
