As punishment for eating the fruit of the Netherworld, the goddess of sunlight Proserpina is confined to its infinite blackness during the most frigid period of winter. Ice and frost then gradually tighten their grip around the warmth-deprived Neotellus and Proserpina can do naught but pray for its survival.
