Lazar persisted in his mission of guiding souls to the Netherworld and sending back those who yet had life remaining. He sought favor with no god and was not forced by a demon's curse; it was merely what he felt was just. Demons who schemed to seize those wandering souls would attempt to interfere on occasion, but Lazar drove such opportunistic fools away. It was imperative the safety of the borderline be undisturbed.
