Much time had passed before Vanessa first felt that strange sensation, before she first felt the power flow through her. Though she lacked a real explanation, she sensed her monstrous form rising, transformed by the miasma that polluted the abyss. The power of an ancient magic now at her disposal, the new witch of the abyss sought to take revenge on the fools who had sacrificed her, and so she began ascent.

Name origin[]
Vanessa is of Greek origin, the meaning is "butterfly". The name of a genus of butterflies that includes the Red Admiral and the Painted Lady.
Possibly derived from Greek word "Phanessa" ("god-demiurge). Phanes (Ancient Greek: "I bring to light"), or Protogonos (Greek: "First-born"), was the mystic primeval deity of procreation and the generation of new life.
