Regardless, the hearsay could not distract the people from their queen's wisdom and the turbulence passed as her measures were adopted. Having accomplished her role, Nephelle was finally allowed to perform the traditional rite of mourning. She waded into the River of Grief and broke the mask, the fragments falling with her tears.
