The summoned wolf and dragon set about to ousting the mountain bandits. Dale watched the ruffians flee and knew that they would trouble the townsfolk no longer. He returned to the village to tell the girl, only to hear her cry out in fright, "You monster..." The words cut deep into Dale's heart. He knew he had no place in the world. Discouraged, the ruined figther set off on his travels once again.
