It was hard to believe that the city was once a vibrant polis full of laughing voices and lively commerce; it took but a few years for the plague to wipe out any and all life within. At her every step, the ground would resist, plants would decay, and tower walls would burst, turning to ash. After a time, it became common knowledge that the city was simply off limits to humans. People wondered how the place could be so completely devoid of life, yet all knew that to enter the city meant death. A single look at its uncaring blackness was enough to know as much.
