Lore[]
Filiana let forth the ethereal, purple creatures into the world. They were her eyes, allowing her to see the goings-on of even the farthest corners of Neotellus, and to prevent any calamities that may afflict it. Assuredly her vigilance enables her to prevent any impending doom that may approach. They became an omen of peace and were the origin of the Neotellan phrase, "As a butterfly casts away evil."

Name origin[]
Filiana is probably a variant of Filia. Filia (Philia) is a feminine name of Old Greek origin; the meaning is "friendship; amity, companionship". In addition, Filia is a variant form of the English, German, and Italian Ophelia, derived either from the Greek ophelos "help, profit" or ophis "snake, serpent".
