(Voyage) Christopher the Explorer

Lore[]

The land he discovered was pristine, having never been touched by humans. Dragon-like demons the likes of which he'd never seen roamed the primeval landscape. Christopher pressed forth courageously, unfazed by the danger. After spending endless days at sea, anything else was preferable. "I'll create a utopia right here on this land," he vowed. As he basked in the grand scenery unfurling before him, he could see his dream taking shape before his very eyes.

Name origin[]

Christopher is a masculine name of old Greek origin, and the meaning of Christopher is "bearing Christ". Derived from the Greek name Χριστόφορος (Christóforos); the constituent parts are Χριστός (Christós), "Christ", and φέρειν (férein), "bear". The name was popular among medieval Christians as a metaphorical expression of bearing Christ in their hearts, and later on, in tribute to the 3rd-century Saint Christopher, patron saint of travellers. According to the legend, he was a giant who made his living carrying people across a river, one day he safely carried the infant Christ.
