Constantine's abandonment had not just meant the loss of his parents, but of his humanity. However, his demonic form did not equate to freedom from the ubiquitous emotions of greed or from the compulsion to plan and plot. He first set out to conquer the fiends of the underworld, after which he used the demonic ranks to control the surface. Still, it was odd. Though he was successful in his goal, as he marched on the world above, he had forgotten his own purpose.
