Arise is a Raid Event scheduled to start on December 26, 2013 at 8:00 AM (PST) and end on January 7, 2014 at 11:59 PM (PST). Half-Time calculation maintenance was scheduled on January 2, 2014 11:00 PM (PST) until 11:59 PM (PST).
The Heroes planned to ring in the new year by viewing a comet that passed by Neotellus annually. They came to a town and decided to stay for a few days.
The town was relatively large, but something was amiss. Monsters ran rampant, committing great atrocities. It seemed that the magic square in the center of town had transformed.
Many summoners lived in the town, and it was said that they guarded the gateway to the underworld since ancient times. The magic square at the heart of the town was the gateway.
The Heroes helped some of the townsfolk, who told them that a powerful horde of monsters had emerged from the magic square and scattered throughout town.
The cause of this phenomenon was one of the town's summoners, Ivoks. The magic square had protected the town, but Ivoks had broken the seal using a spell. He had found the spell by stealing a magic text treasured by his brethren.
Ivoks had taken leadership of the monster horde and escaped.
If the gate were allowed to be left open as the old year gave way to the new, it would freeze in place and remain open, destroying the boundary between the surface and the underworld. The Heroes had to return the monsters to the underworld and re-seal the gate before the coming of the new year.
The only summoner with enough magic power to close the huge gate was Ivoks, who bore the magic text.
Since the start of the incident, only one person had gone missing: a young girl named Koo. She was the daughter of one of the town summoners.
She possessed great magic powers and had a promising future. However, it was said that her body was weak, and using her summoning powers shortened her life span.
"If she uses her magic powers to close the gate, won't she die?" Yvette asked.
The Heroes hesitated for a moment. But they couldn't leave the monsters from the underworld to their own devices. They set out in search of Ivoks the summoner, the cause of the crisis, and the young girl, who was the key to solving it.
