Through his adventures with Dorothy and the other companions, the Scarecrow was able to get the brain and wisdom he always wished for. However, his only purpose in life is to go stand in the middle of a field and fend off the crows. This has been unbearably painful, and it is this pain that has made him start regret ever gaining wisdom in the first place.
