Untold years had passed since the humans had taken Daris captive. Though his cell was quite small, he did not want for sustenance. After enduring his depraved conditions for some time, Daris saw his chance. An unsuspecting jailer brought him his meal one day. He spoke to the caged Daris as if he was talking to himself. "Poor thing. It's not like you chose to be locked up like this," murmured the jailer as he placed Daris' food on the floor. Those were the last words he ever spoke. Daris' fangs sank into the man's throat, filling his mouth with delicious human flesh for the first time in ages.
Daris is a male given name with Persian and Arabic roots meaning "student" or "valuable or precisious person". It is widely used in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and very common in Austria, USA, UK and Germany.
