Demitri's Anima took the form of an inescapable chain that would latch on to and drain the energy from its target. It was a representation of his domineering and vindictive personality, which would allow nothing, not fame, wealth, comrades, or lovers to be free from his grasp. Though he held all the power of royalty, he exemplified the notion that the more one had, the more one was afraid of losing possessions.

Demitri is a shortening of the English masculine name Demetrius of Old Greek origin; the meaning is "follower of Demeter, devoted to Demeter", derived from the elements de meaning "earth" and meter "mother". In Greek mythology, Demeter was the goddess of agriculture, grain, and fertility; she was also the mother of Persephone.
