Within a secret chamber, Laverna prepared a deadly curse. She was the "Invisible Hand" who controlled all aspects of the empire from the shadows. Rebellious instigators, political foes, foreign invaders -- everyone who opposed the empire were eliminated outside of the public eye. Now, she would kill the emperor himself. Neither she nor the empire had use for a man whose resolve withered in the face of illness, she believed, and her loyalty lay not with any one ruler, but with the empire itself.
