All of the sudden, dark hands suddenly burst from the Compendium to pull Eceka into it, and though she wrenched her body to evade their grasp, she was unable to escape. In truth, those hands were the manifestation of the book's power, which required the sacrifice of an unblemished body and soul to maintain its ability to contain the rampant emotions. Unknowing of its greatest secret, she lost consciousness and became the new "binding".
