Brynhildr was a valkyrie who once fought countless battles for the sake of the gods, but she shunned their guidance in favor of exalting her own strength and will. For her intolerable arrogance, she was cast into the dark realm below, where she was greeted by the joyous cackling of the wicked ones. As she gazed at the skies above, a flash of lightning rent the air, as if signaling her total abandonment.
