Catherine wasn't greedy in the slightest and always gave away her belongings to others. Knowing a good thing when they saw it, countless people came to relieve her of her food, money and clothing. Even so, Catherine never had an upset look on her face and continued to spread charitable spirit to others with a smile.

Not exactly origin of her name but rather the origin of her story. This was from a short fairy tale called The Star Money (The Star Talers) collected by Brothers Grimm.
