Celica had but one year to live, but that was of no concern. Or rather, she cared little for her own life. She had once been a scholar of the imperial court, responsible for educating the princess. The reason for Celica's blocking the deadly curse intended for the child was neither loyalty nor obligation but love. She would continue to fight to protect the princess, even as her life faded away.
