In the dead of night, a flock of ravens preceded the arrival of Corvus the assassin. He had been cursed with immortality, but it would be undone should he reap the souls of ninety-nine unrepentant sinners beneath the light of a full moon. "You are the ninetieth," he said before swinging his enormous scythe through the victim's neck. The ravens that circled around him cawed madly as another one was added to their numbers. They were manifestations of the souls he had slain, representing his progress towards eternal rest.
