Cries of every variety echoed without cease within the halls of Ramdus' estate -- mournful baying and piercing wails in voices young and old, male and female. The most peculiar thing was the fact these cries emanated from the furnishings themselves. Everything he created possessed life and emotion. The pitiful beings born as mere objects could only express their anguish with their voices, as most knew they were powerless to remedy their situation.
