Fight, meditate, learn, fight again. It was because Fredric saw himself as imperfect that he was so driven in combat. And it was because he knew he was imperfect that he would become strong. While he had long understood that with each scar his prowess grew and he was that much closer to completing his training, he also knew the path to power lay not just in enduring endless combat. In order to complete his training, contemplation of the spirit was necessary as well.

Fredric is an English masculine name of Old German origin; the meaning is "peaceful ruler". Derived from elements frid "peace, protection, safety" and ric "ruler, power, rich". A variant of Frederick, Frederik is a Scandinavian form, Frederic is French. The name Frederick was introduced by the Normans to England in the 11th century, but it was more popular in continental Europe then, especially among royalty, rather than in England.
