Meris was filled with indescribable exhilaration as she and her steed galloped across the verdant plains. The daughter of a noble, she had grown tired of being locked up inside her family's estate. So one day, she snuck out of the mansion and set out to see the world. For the first time in her life, Meris had made a decision that was entirely her own. She had never felt more alive.
Meris is a variant of English ans Estonian feminine name Maris and English, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and German Marisa of Latin origin; the meaning is "of the sea", derived from the Latin maris "sea". It is taken from Stella Maris, "star of the sea", an epithet for the Virgin Mary.
