We must never forget this accursed scepter... thought Elmar. It was a mark of shame upon the kingdom, when his great-grandfather incurred the wrath of the witch who once wielded its absurd power. She had aided them in thwarting the monsters which had menaced their lands, but she was not been granted her promised reward and further dishonored with false accusations. In her rage, she waged a war that lasted years and pushed them to the brink of ruin. Their only salvation was the scepter itself, for its dark properties absorbed the life of its holder.
