The gentle melody of a flute mingled with the breeze as the ground shook with the percussion of footsteps, indicating the passage of the eight-eyed warg and the human atop him, Renee. The Cryptid had once been her betrothed, but a curse disfigured him beyond recognition and warped his mind. Only the sound of her instrument could suppress his brutality, and so she remained near at all times, praying after every stanza that one day she would regain the one she loved.
