Ryuka's blade could absorb the blood of his foes, and the more it consumed, the faster and sharper it became. Death beget more death. However, if the blade was not regularly fed, it would become weaker and weaker until its wielder died of exhaustion. Ryuka had no choice but to continue to slaughter if he wanted to live.

Name origin[]
Ryuka ("short poem of Ryukyu") is a genre of poetry in the Ryukyu Islands and Amami Oshima composed in Ryukyuan languages. In the latter island, it is also called Shimauta (island poem). Ryuka is different from tanka poetry of Japan.
