Though Tio well understood the societal implications, her heart yet longed for her older, adoptive brother. Having been taken into her foster family out of obligation, he was the only one who ever showed Tio compassion. She was willing to go to any length to make him her own, so when a witch offered her a potion said to do just that, there was not the slightest hesitation in accepting it.
